AMPAC Endorsement 2021

AMPAC Public Advisory – 2021 Primary Elections:

[Dearborn, MI April 22, 2021]: The American Arab & Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) announces the beginning of its endorsement process for the August 3,  2021 primary elections.

All candidates seeking AMPAC’s endorsement must submit a request no later than May 15, 2021 (Deadline). Endorsement requests must be made in writing via email to office@ampacmi.org

Candidate’s interviews will be held within the week of  Monday, May 17 to May 22, 2021. Candidates will be contacted accordingly.

Upon completion of the endorsement process, AMPAC will make a formal announcement of the list of endorsed candidates for the August 3,  2021 primary election.

AMPAC urges all registered voters to vote early and in advance via post mail or at your registered precinct on Election Day.  The impact of this year’s upcoming primary election should not be underestimated. Primaries determine who runs in the General elections- a first cut in the process.

It is important for everyone to have a voice in the choice of who gets to make decisions that affect our lives and the future of our cities, state and country.

Save the date: Monday, March 29, 2021 Memorial for the late State Representative Mr. Isaac Robinson

Memorial for the late State Representative Mr. Isaac Robinson:

The American Arab and Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) will be holding a special virtual memorial in loving memory of the late Michigan House Representative Mr. Isaac Robinson. 

Rep. Robinson died on March 29, 2020 due to Covid-19 complications. 

The event is dedicated to Mr. Robinson’s legacy: Activism, engagement, and tireless efforts fighting for equality and social justice. Mr. Robinson’s involvement with all communities and countless community organizations, including with AMPAC, is truly missed.

Mr. Robinson was a founding member of the American Human Rights Council (AHRC). He was deeply involved in the community’s civic and faith-based centers, as an attendee, a participant or a volunteer. 

AMPAC will be broadcasting the event on social media on Monday, March 29, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. 

More details and information will be released in the near future. The program will include special remarks and tributes regarding Mr. Robinson’s legacy.

AMPAC is looking for a Political Administrator who takes great interest in community events. A clear  knowledge of and enthusiasm for politics is essential. The right candidate should also be capable of  dealing confidently with people in important and influential positions. You will be expected to utilize  your knowledge in office administration including basic computer skills as well as being organized with  extreme attention to detail. 

Preferred Requirements: 

• Bilingual skills (Arabic & English), speaking and writing. 

• Good knowledge & understanding of the Arab/Muslim culture and traditions.

• Excellent computer skills. 

• Ability to work with the community’s groups and centers (civic, religious and official)  entities. 

• Good communications skills (interpersonal skills). 

• Passion to work with people of different backgrounds. 

• Good writings skills primarily in English language. 

• Ability to adjust to different work environments. 

• Team player and ability to work with others. 

• Possess understanding of the US political system (elections & political engagement) • Ability to work under pressure during electoral seasons. 

• Open to flexible working hours. 

• Manage, organize and effectively communicate with candidates supported by AMPAC and others. 

• Organize and facilitate working plan to empower & advance AMPAC’s mission, vision &  programs. 

• Organize and facilitate political prior, during and after each electoral cycle. • Recruitment of volunteers to engage in the political campaigns. 

• Create a professional Job-Bank and Data for future references in different public and  government posts (local, County, State & Federal). 

• Organize fundraisers efforts to help generate support AMPAC plans. 

• Organize AMPAC’s administrative affairs, records, information and keep up-to-date • Follow up on AMPAC’s Meetings internally. 

• Act on behalf of AMPAC as it may be assigned by AMPAC

AMPAC Congratulates President-Elect Biden and all other winners of 2020 Elections

AMPAC Congratulates President-Elect Biden and all other winners of 2020 Elections: 

[Monday, November 9, 2020]: The American Arab and Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) congratulates President-Elect Joe Biden for being elected as the 46th United States President. The election of Biden-Harris ticket will mark a new chapter in American history. AMPAC endorsed the Biden-Harris bid for presidency this election cycle. 

In addition, AMPAC congratulates all candidates who won this year’s elections on the local and state level in Michigan and others across the nation. AMPAC take pride that the vast majority of its endorsed candidates won. 

AMPAC commends all candidates who ran, those who won and those who did not. Running for office is the highest form of political engagement and requires many sacrifices. Covid-19 has made this year an exceptional year. It has affected all aspects of life and had a big effect on the elections. We salute all who worked hard to run the electoral process during these exceptional times. 

AMPAC salutes all the voters, those who voted early and those who voted on November third. AMPAC salutes all poll workers and volunteers, especially our AMPAC volunteers. 

 AMPAC calls upon President-Elect Biden to live up to the campaign promises and commitments, including lifting the Muslim ban and advancing inclusion and diversity in all federal government agencies.  

Michigan was pivotal to this year’s election. The American Arab and Muslim vote was closely pursued and watched in this election. AMPAC takes pride in its hard work contributing to Biden’s victory.

Last but not least, we take this opportunity to thank our donors and volunteers. AMPAC can’t make the difference it makes without the support of its donors and volunteers. 

“Democracy is not a spectator sport, it requires an engaged and involved citizenry,” said Abdallah Sheik, President of AMPAC. “We will continue to engage with all elected officials in order to protect and defend our constituents’ interests,” added Sheik.

All candidates seeking AMPAC’s endorsement must submit a request no later than Wednesday, September 9th, 2020. Endorsement requests must be made in writing via email to office@ampacmi.org. Upon completion of the endorsement process, AMPAC will make a formal announcement of the list of endorsed candidates for the November 3, 2020 general election.

AMPAC thanks Voters & Congratulates all Primary Winners:

(Dearborn, August 6, 2020): With the 2020 Primary behind us, the American Arab & Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) would like to thank voters, volunteers and candidates for keeping our democracy alive.

AMPAC congratulates all the winning candidates, especially those who sought our endorsement and support. Although the results weren’t fully promising, your efforts have brought so many people together in unifying a community that is diverse. AMPAC thanks all candidates who ran in this year’s Primary. Especially those whom reached out to the American Arab & Muslim community.

AMPAC is committed to support its candidates through the General elections. The Primary election is over. But, the fight for democracy is not as we approach November 3rd, 2020. We look forward to continue the fight in creating a society of informed and active citizenry through political engagement.

In a democracy, it is important that the political process addresses the needs and concerns of all segments of society.

Despite low voter turnout, AMPAC’s volunteers worked the polls very diligently to make the process as smooth as possible for voters. Looking to the near future, we urge our friends and supporters to vote on November 3rd, 2020 to continue our civic duties and ensure qualified candidates are in place to serve our community.

AMPAC will continue its efforts to encourage people to register to vote as well as to urge all to vote on November 3rd, 2020.

[Dearborn, Michigan July 22, 2020]: The American Arab and Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is pleased to announce its endorsement list for the August 4, 2020 primary elections across the state of Michigan. 

AMPAC made its decisions after an interview process as well as deliberations regarding each candidate. AMPAC’s decision is primarily based on each candidate’s qualifications, credentials, experience, record and stances on issues of interest and concern to the Arab and Muslim community. 

AMPAC’s endorsement process is transparent and thorough. Serving the public with integrity and respect is one great value in AMPAC’s assessment. AMPAC’s only reviews and endorses candidates who submit a formal request seeking its endorsement. 

AMPAC urges voters to vote for its endorsed candidates. Voters can vote early via mail as well. AMPAC reminds all of the reality of COVID-19 and urges all to comply with all health precautions and instructions. Despite the pandemic, we urge all registered voters to vote. The primary election is important and every vote counts as it will determines who runs in November.

AMPAC celebrates its endorsed candidates in 4th Annual Gala

Akram Ali – The American Arab & Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) host its 4th Annual Gala celebration at Greenfield Manor today. This is gala serve to announce the year’s AMPAC endorsement selection and introduce candidates to the community as well as an emphasis on the importance of civic engagement to mobilize the community to become more politically engaged. There were many attendees participating in this event.

The AMPAC serves as the community’s effective voice and as the distinguishable structure accountable to advance, educate, integrate, and advocate the American Arab and Muslim communities’ interests through empowering and mobilizing at the grassroots across all domains of political, social, and economic actions, including civil and human rights.” I am not a political man, but the political effect on our daily lives. The water we drink effect by political, the air we breathe also effect by political, and everything in life’s effect by political. We all need to come together and going to vote” Abdullah Sheik said, the president of AMPAC.

The AMPAC efforts to organize American Muslim Community in Dearborn to increase the number of voters in Dearborn and other cities.Also, AMPAC announced endorsements for many highly-qualified Democratic Candidates running for state and local races in Michigan among these candidates were, Aman Fidam for Dearborn School Board, Adel Mozip for Dearborn School Board and the other 4 candidates running for Dearborn Board School,John John C. Cahalan for Wayne County Circuit judge and Abdullah H Hammoud for Michigan State Representative.
